Working in the field of real estate, this organization is looking for a community organizer.
Tasks
-Represent the company with tenants and social organizations in the area;
-Analyze living environments (housing and neighbourhood) to have knowledge of the realities experienced by residents, the social dynamics and the resources that exist there, in order to target the issues;
-Implement collective mobilization and organizational processes;
-Establish mechanisms to facilitate communication and networking between the different actors;
-Search for solutions that can be brought to the problems observed;
-Advise tenants and provide them with the necessary assistance for the formation and operation of their association;
-Ensure the coordination and implementation of new projects aimed at improving the environment or the quality of life of tenants;
-Organize and lead information, consultation or exchange meetings. Provide, if applicable, any information that the organization wishes to communicate to tenants;
-Write minutes of meetings with tenants, summaries of issues, as well as various reports related to his/her field of activity;
-Collect and transmit to interested persons and organizations the data useful for the identification of social problems experienced by tenants;
-Follow up on requests for information received from tenants, their association or social workers.
-Work in close collaboration with the various administrative units directly serving clients, particularly the sectors, the building department and the sanitation department;
-Ensure, when required, the execution of any related activities.
Qualifications
-Excellent knowledge of spoken and written French and English, as well as communication methods, techniques and principles;
-Mastery of the different techniques of group facilitation;
-Knowledge of the RQIIAC's community organizing framework;
-4 years of experience in a similar position;
-Extensive knowledge of the socio-community environment of Quebec, particularly that of Montreal as well as the role of the various social workers;
-College or university degree in sociology or psychology;
-Have a driver's license.
